Danfoss EKE 1A Superheat Controller / EEV Driver (080G5300) | 24V | CAN

Danfoss EKE 1A (Danfoss code: 080G5300) is a DIN rail electronic controller that drives stepper motor electronic expansion valves (ETS, CCMT, CTR, KVS) and performs superheat control. It measures the superheat at the evaporator outlet with temperature and pressure sensors and continuously adjusts the opening of the expansion valve; it increases efficiency and prevents liquid floodback. Simpler than the EKE 1B, it is the version with a CAN (RJ11) interface and a single temperature sensor.

It is a 24V AC/DC powered, DIN rail mounted module with IP40 protection. It has no display; the optional MMIGRS2 external display is used for setup and monitoring.

Technician Tips

• 1A or 1B? If you do not need Modbus communication or a 2nd temperature sensor, the 1A is economical and sufficient; if you do, choose the EKE 1B.
• Module only: A complete application additionally requires an EEV (ETS/CCMT), an NTC sensor and a ratiometric pressure transmitter (AKS 2050).
• Obtain the MMIGRS2 display separately for display/setup.
• Connect the sensor and valve leads to the correct terminals; set the superheat target according to the refrigerant.
