In refrigeration systems, pressure regulators keep a specific pressure at the set value. This category contains the Danfoss KV series, CPCE capacity regulators, NRD and ORD differential pressure valves and WVFX pressure-controlled water valves.
Which Regulator Does What?
- KVP: Does not let the evaporator pressure drop below the set value; prevents freezing and overcooling in the evaporator.
- KVR: Keeps the condensing (condenser) pressure at a sufficient level even at low outdoor temperatures.
- KVL: Limits the compressor suction (crankcase) pressure; protects the compressor from overload on start-up after a long standstill or defrost.
- KVC and CPCE: Adapt the compressor capacity to low load by means of hot gas bypass.
- NRD and ORD: Differential pressure valves that open at a specific pressure difference.
- WVFX: Regulates the water flow rate in water-cooled condensers according to the condensing pressure.
