Testo 175 T1 (product code 0572 1751) is a single-channel temperature data logger that measures and records temperature at set intervals with an internal NTC sensor. It measures in the range of −35 … +55 °C with ±0.4 °C accuracy and stores up to 1 million readings. With its IP65 protected housing, it is used for long-term temperature monitoring in refrigerators, freezers, cold rooms and refrigerated shelving and for documenting transport temperatures in vehicles carrying food. Like all Testo data loggers for the food sector, it is tested according to DIN EN 12830.

Important: The mini USB connection cable required to program the logger is not included in the scope of delivery; if you do not have a cable at first purchase, it must be obtained separately. Recorded data are transferred to a computer via USB cable or SD card.

Long-Term Temperature Logging in Cold Rooms, Freezers and Transport

The measuring interval can be freely selected between 10 seconds and 24 hours; at a 15-minute measuring interval it runs for approximately 3 years on 3 × AAA batteries. The large, easy-to-read LCD display shows the current value, the highest and lowest recorded values, the programmed alarm values and the remaining battery life; when the lower or upper alarm value is exceeded, the corresponding symbol lights up. Recorded data are retained when the battery runs out or is being replaced.

Data are transferred to a computer via the mini USB port under the side cover or to a card inserted in the SD card slot: when an SD card is inserted and the GO button is pressed for more than 2 seconds, copying starts; the yellow LED indicates that the process is in progress and the green LED that it has finished. With the free Testo ComSoft Basic software, the logger is programmed and data are viewed as graphs and tables and exported to Excel. The device is placed in the wall bracket and secured with the supplied lock.

Technician Tips

• Use lithium batteries in freezers: in environments below −10 °C, use lithium AAA batteries instead of alkaline; the SD card can be used down to −20 °C.
• Place it at a critical control point: to capture temperature fluctuations in cold storage, place the logger at a critical point near the door, passage or refrigeration unit, and typically use a 15-minute logging interval.
• Read out data before replacing batteries: battery replacement stops the running logging program; read out the data first and restart the program after replacement.
• Have it calibrated annually: devices used under EN 12830 require regular inspection and calibration according to EN 13486; once a year is recommended.
• The display slows down in the cold: below 0 °C the LCD display responds slowly (approx. 6 s at −20 °C); this does not affect measuring accuracy.
