Testo 174 H (product code 0572 1741 01) is a mini temperature and humidity data logger that measures temperature and relative humidity at set intervals and stores them in its memory. It measures in the range of −20 … +70 °C temperature and 0 … 100 %RH humidity and stores up to 16,000 pairs of readings. It is suitable for continuous monitoring of temperature- and humidity-sensitive products in storage, archives and indoor climate; the records are transferred to a computer via USB-C cable and evaluated with the free Testo ComSoft Basic software.

Temperature and Humidity Logging in Storage and Indoor Areas

The measuring interval can be programmed between 1 minute and 24 hours. Logging starts by pressing the GO button on the device for 3 seconds or at the date and time set in the software. The LCD display shows the current value, the highest and lowest recorded values, the programmed upper/lower alarm values and the battery status; when an alarm value is exceeded, the corresponding symbol lights up on the display. Recorded data are automatically retained when the battery runs out or is being replaced.

With ComSoft Basic software, the logger is programmed, data are read out, viewed graphically, exported to Excel and PDF reports are created; ComSoft Professional software can optionally be used for more detailed analysis. With the supplied wall bracket, the device can be fixed to a shelf, wall or panel surface. It is HACCP and NSF certified.

Technician Tips

• Pull out the battery protection strip: the device comes with batteries fitted; before first use, pull out the protection strip in the battery compartment.
• Choose the measuring interval according to memory: the 16,000-reading memory holds approximately 166 days of records at a 15-minute interval; the shorter the interval, the shorter the recording period and battery life.
• Place it at the right point: place it at a point representative of the protected product, rather than directly in front of doors, air conditioner or heater outlets and heat sources.
• Protect from dust and condensation: do not use the humidity sensor in dusty environments; measurement is intended for non-condensing environments; consult the manufacturer for prolonged use at very high humidity.
• Do not let it come into direct contact with food: the logger must not touch unpackaged food; slow display response in the cold (below 0 °C) does not affect measuring accuracy.
