Testo 925 (product code 0563 0925) is a single-channel digital temperature meter that works with type K thermocouple (TC K) probes and connects via Bluetooth to the Testo Smart App. The instrument has a measuring range of −50 … +1000 °C; one flexible type K thermocouple probe (Class 1, 800 mm, −50 … +400 °C) is included in the box, and it is also compatible with other type K probes available on the market. It is used in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) applications and for surface temperature measurement.

−50 … +1000 °C Temperature Measurement with Type K Probes

The supplied flexible probe responds quickly (t90 3 s) and is easily placed in tight spots. Lower and upper alarm limits can be set; when the measured value goes outside the limit, the alarm symbol flashes, an audible warning sounds until a button is pressed, and an arrow on the display shows which limit has been exceeded. Hold, max./min. value, multi-point mean and timed mean functions are available; measurement values can also be printed from the Testo Bluetooth/IRDA printer.

With the Testo Smart App, the instrument is configured from the app, the smartphone is used as a second display, the measurement curve is monitored graphically and data are recorded; customers and measuring locations are managed, and the report is sent by e-mail on site. The surface correction setting in the app compensates, as a percentage, for the low reading caused by the heat that the surface probe draws from the surface on contact. With the optional TopSafe protective cover, the instrument is protected against dust and water jets (IP65).

Technician Recommendations

• Observe the probe's limit: the supplied flexible probe can be used up to +400 °C; for the instrument's range up to +1000 °C, choose a suitable type K probe.
• Apply correction for surface measurement: the surface probe draws heat from the surface on contact and the value reads below the actual temperature; compensate for this difference with the surface correction setting in the app.
• Ensure firm probe contact: when measuring on a pipe or body surface, seat the tip of the flexible probe fully on the surface; an air gap lowers the value.
• Enable damping for fluctuating values: if the readings fluctuate too much, activate damping in the Testo Smart App settings.
• Check with the limit alarm: define lower and upper limits at points that must stay within a certain temperature range; the audible warning immediately signals an out-of-limit value.
