The Testo mini thermometer with long probe (product code 0560 1111) uses its 213 mm immersion/penetration probe for fast temperature measurement in air, in soft or powdery substances and in liquids; it is a pocket-sized digital thermometer. It measures in the −50 … +250 °C range; accuracy in the −10 … +99.9 °C range is ±1 °C. It is used for liquid measurements in laboratories, for checking core temperature during food inspections and for measuring air temperature in heating/air conditioning/ventilation work. The digital display clearly shows the reading in °C or °F; the reading errors of dial-type analog thermometers do not occur.

Immersion/Penetration Measurement in Food, Laboratory and HVAC Work

The thermometer is ready to measure at the press of a button; the battery level can also be monitored on the display, and the LR44 button cell is easy to replace. The protective tube with clip supplied with the thermometer protects the probe shaft; with the probe placed in the tube, the thermometer can be clipped to a shirt pocket for easy carrying. Testo's mini thermometer series is used in the food, pharmaceutical, heating and ventilation sectors; according to Regulation EC 1935/2004, the probe shaft is suitable for food contact up to 1 cm from the transition to the housing.

Technician Tips

• Carry the probe in its protective tube: after measuring, place the probe shaft in the protective tube with clip; clip the thermometer to your pocket with the tube's clip for safe carrying.
• Know the most accurate range: the thermometer measures with ±1 °C accuracy between −10 … +99.9 °C; above +100 °C the accuracy is ±2% of reading, and above +200 °C it is ±3%.
• Mind the insertion depth in food: EC 1935/2004 compliance applies to the part of the probe shaft up to 1 cm from the transition to the housing; do not insert the probe any deeper than this.
• Keep the housing away from heat: the operating temperature of the thermometer housing is −10 … +50 °C; measurements up to +250 °C are made only with the probe tip, so do not leave the housing in a hot environment.
• Monitor the battery level: replace the LR44 button cell when the battery indicator on the display runs low; Testo's pack of 4 spare LR44 batteries is available under code 0515 0032.
