Testo Mini Digital Surface Thermometer – −50…+300 °C, Ø15 mm Wide Measuring Tip, 120 mm Probe, for Heating Systems and Air Conditioning (0560 1109)

The Testo mini surface thermometer (product code 0560 1109), designed to measure the temperature of flat surfaces and featuring an extra-wide (Ø15 mm) measuring tip, is a pocket-sized digital surface thermometer. It measures in the −50 … +300 °C range; accuracy in the −30 … +250 °C range is ±1 °C. Thanks to its 120 mm probe shaft and wide measuring range, it is used to check surface temperatures in heating systems, plumbing and air conditioning/refrigeration/ventilation applications. The result is clearly readable on the single-line digital display, and the unit can be set to °C or °F.

Fast and Practical Temperature Checks on Flat Surfaces

The enlarged measuring tip is designed to sit easily on a flat measuring point. For a faster measurement result, Testo recommends the optional silicone heat transfer paste (0554 0004), which improves heat transfer between the measuring tip and the surface. The thermometer is ready to measure at the press of a button; it has a battery level indicator and the LR44 button cell is easy to replace. Testo's mini thermometer series is used in the food, pharmaceutical, heating and ventilation sectors; according to Regulation EC 1935/2004, the probe shaft is suitable for food contact up to 1 cm from the transition to the housing.

Technician Tips

• Seat the tip fully on the surface: the enlarged measuring tip is designed to sit on a flat measuring point; place the tip so that it lies flat and in full contact with the surface to be measured.
• Speed it up with heat transfer paste: to shorten the measuring time, apply silicone heat transfer paste (0554 0004) between the tip and the surface. The maximum operating temperature of the paste is +260 °C; do not use the paste on hotter surfaces.
• Know the accuracy range: the thermometer measures with ±1 °C accuracy between −30 … +250 °C; outside this range the accuracy is ±2 °C, and outside −19.9 … +199.9 °C the display shows values in 1 °C steps.
• Keep the housing away from heat: the operating temperature of the thermometer housing is −10 … +50 °C; measurements up to +300 °C are made with the probe tip, so do not leave the housing above a hot surface or in a hot environment.
• Monitor the battery level: replace the LR44 button cell when the battery level indicator on the display runs low; battery replacement is easy.
