Testo 735-2 (product code 0563 7352), with one probe input for high-precision Pt100 probes and two for fast type K, T, J and S thermocouple probes, is a 3-channel precision temperature measuring instrument (thermometer). Depending on the connected probe, it measures in the −200 … +1760 °C range; with measurement memory for up to 10,000 readings, PC software and a USB data cable, it lets you save measurements and analyze and document them on a computer. With Testo's precision Pt100 immersion/penetration probe (0614 0235) and system adjustment, 0.001 °C resolution and ±0.05 °C system accuracy are achieved, so it is used as a reference (working standard) thermometer. It is EN 13485 certified for the food sector, and its rugged housing is IP65 protected.

Important: A probe is required to use the instrument; Pt100 and thermocouple probes are not included in the scope of delivery. A probe suitable for the application must be purchased separately.

Precise, Recorded Temperature Measurement with Pt100 and Thermocouple Probes

The display has two measurement lines; the lower line can show the other channels as well as the maximum and minimum of the value in the upper line. Functions include Delta T (temperature difference), timed and multi-point averaging, value hold (Hold) and Max/Min reset; the instrument sounds an audible alarm when the set lower or upper alarm value is exceeded. Application-specific Standard, Route and Longterm user profiles allow the function keys and menu to be tailored to the measuring task.

Measurements are stored by 99 different measuring locations; measuring location names can be changed to text of up to 10 characters with the PC software, and alarm values are defined separately for each measuring location. Values can be saved with a single key press or saved automatically in the AUTO measuring program by setting the logging interval and number of measurements. Stored measurement protocols can be sent via the infrared (IR) interface to a Testo printer and printed on site, or transferred to a computer via USB and reviewed as graphs. With the optional radio module, the values of up to three wireless temperature probes can also be shown on the instrument display. Thanks to the magnets on the back of the instrument, it can be attached to metal surfaces.

Technician Tips

• Connect the probe before switching on: plug-in probes and the radio module must be connected before the instrument is switched on so that they are recognized; if "-----" appears on the display, switch the instrument off, connect the probe and switch it on again.
• Use system adjustment for reference measurements: 0.001 °C resolution and ±0.05 °C system accuracy are achieved with the precision Pt100 probe (0614 0235) when the probe adjustment data saved to the instrument with Testo adjustment software is activated; if adjustment data is active, the instrument shows this on the display at power-up.
• Protect your data when changing batteries: to avoid erasing the data in memory, change the batteries while the instrument is switched off; do not press the power button during this time. When powering the instrument with the USB adapter, also leave the batteries inserted so that it does not switch off in the event of a power failure.
• Be careful with the magnets: because of the holding magnets on the back, keep the instrument at least 15 cm away from pacemakers; keep it away from items that may be affected by magnetic fields, such as monitors, computers and credit cards.
• Check approval when using wireless probes: radio probes may only be used in countries with type approval; Turkey is not included in the country list published by Testo for the 869.85 MHz radio module.
