Testo Smart Probes HVAC Set (product code 0563 0010) brings together in a single case the Smart Probes instruments needed for fast and flexible temperature measurement and differential pressure measurement. The set contains the Testo 915i wireless thermometer together with an air probe, an immersion/penetration probe and a surface probe (all TC type K, class 1), plus the Testo 510i wireless differential pressure meter. The Testo 510i is suitable for measuring gas flow pressure, static pressure and pressure drops across fans and filters. All readings are transferred via Bluetooth to the free Testo Smart App.

Wireless HVAC Set for Temperature and Differential Pressure Measurement

The Testo 915i is compatible with all Testo and commercially available type K thermocouple probes; the locking mechanism on its handle ensures easy and secure connection of plug-in Testo probes. The set's immersion/penetration probe (−50 … +400 °C) is used in liquids, pasty and semi-solid media; the surface probe with spring-loaded thermocouple strip (−50 … +350 °C) on flat and uneven surfaces, such as pipes; and the air probe for air temperature measurement.

The Testo 510i is a compact differential pressure meter operated with a smartphone; the app has a measurement menu for pressure drop testing. The probes establish an automatic Bluetooth connection to a smartphone, tablet or compatible Testo measuring instruments such as the Testo 550s and Testo 400. The app shows readings and temperature curves graphically; a measurement report is created on site and sent as a PDF or CSV file. The Testo Smart Case allows the instruments and probes to be stored and carried safely.

Technician Tips

• Choose the right probe: use the spring-loaded surface probe for pipes and surfaces, the immersion probe for water and liquid lines, and the air probe for grilles and room air.
• Be patient with the air probe: the response time t90 of the air probe is 60 seconds; do not take a reading before the value settles.
• Measure static and flow pressure separately on combi boilers: with the Testo 510i, first read the static pressure with the appliance off, then the flow pressure at full load; the difference shows whether the line is adequate.
• Do not forget to zero for differential pressure: zero the 510i in the app before connecting the hoses.
• Store the probes in their case: the thin-tipped immersion probe is susceptible to bending; put it back in its place in the case after use.
