Testo 510i (product code 0560 1510), used with a smartphone or tablet, is a wireless differential pressure meter (digital manometer). −150 … +150 hPa (mbar) measuring range with 0.01 hPa resolution; it is used for gas flow pressure and static pressure in combi boilers and burners, differential pressure across extractors and filters, and pressure drop tests in gas installations. Values are transferred via Bluetooth to the free Testo Smart App app.

Combi Boiler Gas Pressure, Static Pressure and Filter Differential Pressure Measurement

Connected by hose to the measuring point of the combi boiler gas valve, the Testo 510i shows static (at rest) and dynamic (flow) gas pressure; it is used for burner adjustment and gas valve checks. In ventilation systems, the differential pressure across filters and extractors is measured; the device can also be used for air flow velocity and volume flow measurements.

The app has an alarm-enabled measurement menu for pressure drop tests. All measurement data are shown as a graph or table; the measurement protocol is sent directly as a PDF or Excel file. Thanks to the magnetic holder on its body, the device can be attached to the boiler casing or a metal surface, leaving your hands free.

Technician Tips

• Do not forget to zero: zero the device in the app before connecting the hoses; at low pressures even a small drift changes the result.
• Measure static and flow pressure separately: on a combi boiler, first read the inlet static pressure with the appliance off, then the flow pressure with the burner at full load; the difference shows whether the line cross-section and gas meter are adequate.
• Mind the plus and minus inputs: for differential pressure, connect the high pressure side to the plus (+) input and the low pressure side to the minus (−) input; a reversed connection shows a negative value.
• Retighten the measuring point screw: after removing the hose from the gas valve measuring nipple, tighten the screw and check for leaks with leak detection foam.
• Do not exceed the range: the device is designed for ±150 hPa (mbar); do not connect it to high pressures such as mains supply line pressure or refrigeration system pressure.
