Testo 622 (product code 0560 6220) is a digital thermohygrometer and barometer that measures the temperature, relative humidity and pressure of the ambient air and shows them together with the date and time on its large display. It measures 0 … 100 %RH humidity, −10 … +60 °C temperature and 300 … 1200 hPa absolute pressure. It is designed especially for monitoring ambient conditions in laboratories during calibration and test setups; it can be wall-mounted or used on a desk.

Monitoring Ambient Conditions in the Laboratory on a Single Display

The device updates its measurements every 10 seconds. Humidity can be shown as relative humidity (%RH), dew point (td) or wet bulb temperature (wb); pressure as hPa, mbar, kPa, inHg, inH2O or psi. When the altitude of the installation site above sea level is entered, the display can switch between absolute pressure and barometric pressure. Max. and min. values are viewed at the press of a button.

Lower and upper limit values can be set for temperature and humidity; when a limit is exceeded, an LED flashes and the exceeded value is marked on the display. The calibration reminder function gives a warning on the display on the set date, making it easier to keep track of periodic calibration. With optional adjustment software, the device can be calibrated and adjusted on site. It runs for at least 12 months on 4 × AA batteries.

Technician Tips

• Place it at the right spot: position the device where air circulates, away from direct sunlight, air conditioner outlets and heat-emitting devices; use it only in enclosed, dry environments.
• Enter the altitude correctly: barometric pressure is calculated from the altitude of the installation site above sea level; if the altitude is entered incorrectly, the barometric value appears wrong.
• Check the limits after changing the humidity unit: when the humidity unit is changed between %RH, td and wb, the set limit values are not converted; enter the limits again.
• Use the dimension for wall mounting: the distance between the upper and lower mounting holes is 63 mm.
• Do not clean the sensor with compressed air: wipe a dirty housing with a damp cloth; compressed air and aggressive cleaning agents damage the sensor.
