The TP101 digital probe thermometer is a stem-type (probe) measuring instrument designed for fast temperature measurement between -50°C and +300°C in a wide range of fields, from air conditioning and refrigeration systems to food, laboratories and industrial maintenance. Its long stainless steel probe lets you reach the core temperature of liquid, solid and semi-solid substances while keeping your hand away from hot or cold surfaces.

HOLD and MAX/MIN: Two Buttons That Make Measuring in Difficult Spots Easier

The feature that sets this model apart is the HOLD and MAX/MIN buttons on either side of the display:

• HOLD (freeze value): If the measuring spot is narrow, dark or somewhere you cannot see the display (inside a vent, behind a duct, under the unit casing), you freeze the value and read it comfortably after removing the probe. You do not need to change your position to look at the display.
• MAX/MIN (highest / lowest): Keeps the highest and lowest values seen during the measurement in memory. When monitoring the defrost cycle, compressor stops and starts or fluctuations in vent discharge temperature, you read the range directly instead of noting values one by one.
• °C / °F conversion: Switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit with a single button; useful when comparing with the nameplate values of imported equipment.
• 10-minute auto power-off: The device switches itself off when not in use, so the battery is not drained unnecessarily.

• 🔧 Use in air conditioning: Practical for measuring vent supply air, return air and the difference between them (delta T). Since the probe is metal, it stabilizes in the airflow within a few seconds; wait until the value settles and do not rely on the first reading.
• Allow a margin for surface measurement. Stem-probe thermometers are designed for immersion and core temperature measurement. When measuring a pipe surface, make good contact between the probe and the surface and cover it with insulation; otherwise the ambient air will pull the reading down.
• Clean the probe after use. Especially if you have measured in food or oily environments, wipe the probe with a clean cloth and place it in the protective tube; this protects both accuracy and the life of the device.
• Observe the measuring limit. Do not use it at points above +300°C (flame, red-hot surfaces); the sensor will be permanently damaged. Such measurements require a non-contact infrared thermometer.
