- Model: 0590 7602
Testo 760-2 (product code 0590 7602) is a TRMS digital multimeter designed for all important electrical measurements. Unlike other multimeters, it automatically detects the appropriate measurement parameter according to the socket into which the test leads are plugged, reducing the risk of selecting the wrong range. It measures current in the µA range, gives the true RMS value (TRMS) independent of the signal waveform, and also measures temperature with the supplied adapter.
Multimeter with Automatic Parameter Detection Based on Socket Selection
Instead of a conventional rotary range switch, the Testo 760-2 has illuminated function keys; the instrument is easy to operate with one hand, and the large, illuminated display shows measurements clearly. The integrated low-pass filter provides more accurate measurement results on motors controlled by frequency converters (inverters).
It is used for checking the voltage supply on live lines, measuring current in the low range, checking the supply of inverter-controlled motors, measuring ionisation current in heating systems, continuity testing on switching components, measuring the resistance of sensors and motor windings, and for easy temperature checks.

Technician Tips
- Plug the lead into the correct socket: the instrument selects the parameter according to the socket; for current measurement plug the red lead into the A or mA socket, for voltage into the V socket, and move it back to the V socket after measuring.
- Measure combi boiler ionisation current in µA: in case of a flame detection fault, the current at µA level is read by connecting in series with the ionisation electrode line; compare the value with the lower limit given by the boiler manufacturer.
- Switch on the filter at the inverter output: measure the supply of a frequency converter-controlled motor with the low-pass filter switched on; an unfiltered reading deviates due to high-frequency interference.
- Disconnect power for resistance and continuity: carry out motor winding, sensor and contact measurements with the circuit de-energized and the capacitors discharged.
- Replace the fuse with the same rating: if a fuse blows on the current input, replace it only with a ceramic fuse of the same rating and breaking capacity.
