Testo 545 (product code 0563 1545) is a digital lux meter (light meter) that measures lighting levels in workplaces and indoor spaces and connects via Bluetooth to the Testo Smart App. It has a measuring range of 0 … 100,000 lux and class C accuracy according to DIN 5032-7 / EN 13032-1. The light sensor is matched to the V(λ) eye sensitivity curve and is compatible with almost all LEDs on the market (except monochromatic blue LEDs). A light probe with a 1.4 m cable is supplied with the instrument.

Precise Lux Measurement with All Common Light Sources Including LEDs

Thanks to the cable probe, the sensor placed on the measuring surface stays fixed while the value is read on the instrument display or in the app; the person measuring does not cast a shadow on the sensor. The instrument automatically calculates multi-point mean and timed mean values; Hold keeps the value on the display, and max. and min. values are displayed. It gives an audible alarm when the lower and upper limits are exceeded. The measuring unit can be selected as lux or foot candle (fc).

With the Testo Smart App, the instrument is configured from the app, the smartphone is used as a second display, and measurement values are monitored and recorded as graphs and tables; a measurement report with photos is created on site as a PDF/CSV file and sent by e-mail. Auto-off (10 minutes) and damping are set from the app.

Technician Recommendations

• Place the probe on the working surface: measure at the level of the surface to be evaluated, such as a desk, counter or floor, with the sensor facing upward.
• Stay out of the light: thanks to the cable probe, stay away from the sensor during measurement; body shadow lowers the value.
• Divide the area into points: measure with the multi-point mean at evenly spaced points in the room; a single point does not represent the illuminance of the area.
• Watch out for blue LEDs: monochromatic blue LED sources are not covered by the instrument's LED compatibility; evaluate values measured with these sources carefully.
• If the display slows down in the cold: at very low ambient temperatures the display responds slowly; bring the instrument to operating temperature before measuring.
