Rothenberger ROCLAMP (product code 1000005504) is a Bluetooth-connected digital pipe temperature clamp developed to measure pipe surface temperature in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems. 6–38 mm (1/4"–1 1/2") pipe diameters are supported; it measures in the -40…150 °C range and both shows the reading on its own OLED display and transmits it wirelessly. In the field it is also searched for as a clamp thermometer or clamp-type temperature probe.

Wireless Pipe Temperature Clamp for Superheat and Subcooling Measurement

ROCLAMP pairs with the ROCOOL MINI and ROCOOL MAXI digital manifolds and transmits the pipe temperature on the low and high pressure lines to the manifold; this way, superheat and subcooling values are calculated without a cable connection. Thanks to its type T thermocouple sensor, OLED display that can be rotated 180° and rotatable handle, it provides legible and safe measurement in any mounting position. When the app connection is lost, it stores up to 3000 measurement points on the device.

Technician's Tips

• Attach it in the right place: fix the clamp so that it sits fully on a clean, dry pipe surface with the insulation removed; paint, rust or moisture skews the measurement. For superheat, attach it near the evaporator outlet; for subcooling, near the condenser outlet.
• Pairing with ROCOOL: in the ROCOOL MINI or MAXI menu, select "Sonde L" for the low pressure side and "Sonde H" for the high pressure side to register the ROCLAMP's ID number; settings can also be made via the app.
• Ice water calibration: fill an insulated container 1:1 with ice and water and wait about two minutes, then immerse the probe in the container without touching the ice; select "Device calibration" in the app and press the on/off button once the value stabilizes; "OK" appears on the display.
• Battery warning: if the indicator light flashes slowly red, the battery is below 10%; charge it before long measurements.
