Resideo (Honeywell) TMXD-00105 Orifice Cartridge NO: 8.0 – For TMX Series Expansion Valves

Resideo (Honeywell) TMXD-00105 is an interchangeable orifice cartridge for TMX series thermostatic expansion valves. The orifice number is NO: 8.0. TMX valves consist of two parts, a body + an orifice cartridge; the orifice determines the capacity of the valve.

Interchangeable Orifice: Adjust Capacity Without Replacing the Valve Body

When the system capacity changes or the valve has been selected incorrectly, there is no need to remove the entire valve — only the orifice cartridge is replaced. The same TMX body can be used across a wide band from 17.0 kW to 75.1 kW (R22) with different orifice numbers. This reduces both stock cost and service time.

The balanced port design of the TMX series ensures stable valve operation even when the condensing pressure fluctuates; external pressure equalization is integrated into the valve, and the damped gas charge with MOP protects the compressor against overloading.

• 🔧 The orifice is selected according to capacity. Fitting a larger orifice does not mean "more cooling"; the valve overfeeds, superheat control is lost and liquid floods back to the compressor.
• Depressurize the system when replacing the cartridge and check the strainer in the orifice seat; a clogged strainer is the most common cause of capacity loss.
• Replace the gasket at every change — a tight seal is not guaranteed with an old gasket.
