Which Machines Is It Used In?

• In LG's spare parts list, drain pump number 5859EN1004J is given for models F1073ND and F1273ND.
• For a different LG model, compare the part number on the old pump's label, or the machine's parts list, with 5859EN1004J.

Fault Symptoms

• The machine does not drain, stops in the middle of the programme or does not move on to spinning.
• On LG machines a draining problem appears on the display as the OE error code.
• If the pump hums but does not pump water, a foreign object may be stuck in the impeller or the impeller may be broken.

When Replacing

• First open the filter cap and clean the filter and impeller; sometimes the problem is only lint, a hair clip or a coin collected in the filter.
• Check that the drain hose is not blocked or kinked.
• Unplug the machine before removing or fitting the pump, and drain the remaining water into a container through the filter cap.
• The pump is replaced together with the filter housing; connect the hose clamps and the cable plug the same way as on the old pump.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the OE error always a pump fault?

No. OE means the machine could not drain the water within the set time; a blocked filter or drain hose gives the same error. Check the filter and hose before replacing the pump.
