Hongsen 1068-3 Solenoid Valve 3/8" ODF Brazed (10 Series, Without Coil)
- Stock: In Stock
- Brand: Hongsen
- Model: 06.118.006
The Hongsen 1068-3 solenoid valve is a valve with a 10 series brazed (ODF) body that electrically opens and closes the refrigerant line in refrigeration and air conditioning circuits. It has a 3/8" ODF copper tube connection; it is installed directly on the tube by brazing and does not require flare fittings. The body is brass; the mounting bracket and screw are included in the box.
The coil is not included with the product and is sold separately: this body takes the Hongsen Model 10 coil (HM2, 220-230V AC 8W) — available in our store under code 07.118.003. If the coil burns out, only the coil is replaced without opening the system.
Where It Is Used: Liquid Line, Pump-Down and Automation
- Liquid line shut-off: Cuts off liquid flow to the evaporator when the compressor stops; prevents liquid flood-back and oil washout.
- Pump-down circuit: The thermostat closes the valve, the compressor pumps down the refrigerant in the line and stops on the low pressure switch — the standard protection scheme for cold room installations.
- Multiple evaporator control: Used to open and close the line of each room/cabinet independently in a single-compressor system.
- Compatible refrigerants: Compatible with HFC/HCFC refrigerants and their oils, including R404A, R134a, R22, R407C and R410A (not suitable for ammonia).
Technical Specifications and Installation Notes
- Product Code: 06.118.006 | Model: Hongsen 1068-3 (10 series)

- 🔧 Protect the body during brazing. ODF valves are brazed to the tube; to avoid damaging the internal seals, wrap the body in a wet cloth, direct the flame away from the body and, if possible, braze under a nitrogen flow.
- Mind the flow direction. The arrow on the body shows the flow direction; a valve fitted in reverse either does not close at all or chatters with vibration.
- Mounting position: Mounting on a horizontal pipe with the coil stem pointing upward is ideal; avoid upside-down mounting.
- Fit a filter upstream. Chips and dirt in the system scratch the valve seat and it starts to leak; there should be a filter drier upstream of the valve.
- Do not energize without the coil fitted, do not run the coil without the stem. Energizing the coil without fitting it on the valve burns out the coil (see the coil product page).
