Danfoss DCL 759s (code 023Z4550) is a hermetic filter drier brazed into the liquid line of the refrigeration circuit. It belongs to Danfoss's ELIMINATOR® series. It retains moisture and acid in the circuit with its solid molecular sieve core and filters out particles; it protects the compressor from acid damage, the expansion valve from ice blockage and the capillary tube from clogging.

Liquid Line Filter Drier: Retains Moisture, Acid and Particles

The DCL series has a solid core design — no granules are shed, and it offers high moisture and acid retention capacity. The 759s is one of the largest shells in the series (75 cu.in.): suitable for large commercial refrigeration units, cold room condensing units and systems with parallel compressors. It is also preferred for clean-up after a compressor burn-out.

• 🔧 Mind the arrow direction: The flow arrow on the body must point from the condenser toward the expansion valve. If fitted in reverse, the filter will not do its job.
• Cool the body with a wet cloth while brazing and braze with a nitrogen purge — excessive heat damages the core.
• The filter drier must also be renewed at every compressor replacement and every time the circuit is opened; an old drier releases the moisture and acid it has retained.
• Pressure drop check: If there is a temperature difference you can feel by hand between the drier inlet and outlet, the filter is clogged; replace it.
