Danfoss ETS 50C-28 (Danfoss code: 034G7702) is a stepper motor driven, bi-flow (bidirectional) electronic expansion valve (EEV) from the "Colibri" family. With precise superheat control, it adjusts the refrigerant flow entering the evaporator with micro-step (600 full steps) precision, increasing system efficiency and reducing energy consumption. Thanks to its bidirectional flow capability, it works in both directions in heat pump / reversible systems.

Stepper Motor Bi-Flow Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV)

The ETS 50C is a fully hermetic valve with a stainless steel body and 28 mm (1 1/8") ODF solder connections. It does not work on its own; it is driven by a Danfoss driver/controller (EKE 1A/1B/1C or MCX series). The driver/controller is not included in the package and is ordered separately.

Technician Tips

• The driver is purchased separately: The ETS 50C does not work on its own; it is installed together with an EKE (1A/1B) or MCX controller + pressure transmitter + temperature sensor.
• Remove the stepper motor during brazing or protect the body with a wet cloth / heat sink paste; excessive heat damages the motor.
• Although flow is bidirectional, set the mounting orientation and sight glass position according to the manufacturer's diagram.
• When commissioning, set the superheat target and valve step limits correctly in the controller.
