This prevents it from being mixed up with the high pressure (red) valves in your tool bag and lets you work quickly, safely and without errors in the field.

1/4" Female Inlet and Smart Adapter Design

Connecting to the appliance's service valve, the female end is standard 1/4" in size. The male outlet on the main body where the hose attaches is 5/16" in size. If your manifold hose is 1/4", there is no need to look for another fitting in your bag; by fitting the female-male adapter included in the package onto the end of the valve, you can convert the male outlet in seconds to a 1/4" connection size.
