T-1456 90° Elbow Adapter – 5/16" SAE Female (R410A · R32) × 1/4" SAE Male, Size Converter

The T-1456 is a 90° elbow adapter that fits onto the service valve with its 5/16" SAE female end and accepts a manifold hose on its 1/4" SAE male end. It both converts the size and routes the hose at a right angle. There is no valve or restriction on it; it is straight-through.

Connects the R410A Service Port to a Standard 1/4" Hose — and at a Right Angle

Its main job is size conversion. The service port on R410A and R32 systems is 5/16"; the manifold hoses you have are most likely 1/4". This adapter bridges the difference — no need to carry a separate straight converter fitting.

The second gain is the right angle. When the service valve is close to a wall, panel or casing corner, a hose fitted straight on bends sharply. In a bent hose flow is restricted (evacuation slows, charging becomes harder) and a constant side load is placed on the fitting end; over time this load damages the seal surface and starts a leak. The elbow removes this load by routing the hose away from the valve at a right angle.

The body is red anodized aluminum and the connection end is brass. The female nut is knurled and hand-tightened.

• 🔧 How to fit: Hand-tighten the adapter’s 5/16" female nut onto the male port of the service valve; connect the 1/4" female fitting of the manifold hose to the brass male end of the adapter. The hose leaves the valve at a right angle.
• 🔎 Which size is yours? 5/16" — this product: R410A · R32 (new-generation air conditioners and heat pumps). 1/4" — other version: for R22 · R134a · R404A · R407C (classic refrigeration and older air conditioning systems) choose the T-1414 model. If you are not sure, try your manifold hose on the service port: if the hose is loose, the port is 5/16".
• Hand-tighten, do not force with a wrench. An SAE flare connection seals on its seal surface; excessive torque crushes the cone and causes a permanent leak. The hex on the brass end is only for holding against.
• Keep the seal surface clean. If dust and chips settle on the flare surface, a leak starts; wipe before connecting, and a drop of refrigeration oil improves sealing.
