Value VE 160N vacuum pump is a single stage vacuum pump used to quickly evacuate air and moisture from the circuit before refrigerant charging in air conditioning and commercial refrigeration systems. With approximately three times the flow rate of the VE 115N, it significantly shortens the evacuation time in large-volume and long-pipe circuits. It has two intake connections, 1/4" and 3/8" SAE; the flow rate is fully utilised when working with a thick vacuum hose. It comes with the one-piece body structure, forced oil circulation and large oil sight glass of the Value VE-N series.

Technician Tips

• Use a thick hose: do not restrict the 6 CFM flow with a thin 1/4" hose; if possible use the 3/8" connection and a short, large-bore vacuum hose.
• Oil maintenance: 415 mL of oil collects moisture more quickly in large circuits; change the oil when you see cloudiness in the sight glass, otherwise the pump cannot reach 150 microns.
• Measure the vacuum: check with a digital vacuum gauge that reads microns; the target is usually below 500 microns. Watch that the value does not rise for a few minutes after the pump is switched off.
• Shutdown sequence: first close the valve on the circuit side or disconnect the hose, then stop the pump.
• Caution with flammable refrigerants: in systems with flammable refrigerants such as R32 and R290, prefer a spark-free (ex-proof) vacuum pump.
