Sporlan SERI-L Stepper Motor Electronic Expansion Valve – 410 kW / 117 Tons

Sporlan SERI-L is a stepper motor electronic expansion valve (EEV). With a capacity of 410 kW (≈117 tons), it controls liquid injection in supermarket display cases, chillers and industrial refrigeration lines. The bipolar stepper motor positions the valve steplessly, providing superheat control with a precision that a thermostatic valve cannot achieve.

Naming note: In distributor lists, this valve also appears under the code SERI-LS; it identifies the same product.

Why an Electronic Valve?

• Precise superheat: The stepper motor adjusts the flow continuously and steplessly; it operates stably even at part load, and energy consumption drops.
• Wide capacity band: Electronic control provides smooth feeding across the 10-100% load range — a thermostatic valve starts hunting in this band.
• Controller compatibility: Works with Sporlan/standard EEV drivers; if the signal is lost, the valve can be moved to a safe position.

• 🔧 Protect the motor head with a wet cloth during brazing; if the body temperature exceeds the limit, the winding will be damaged.
• Enter the driver parameters according to the valve model — a wrong step count will keep the valve from opening fully or drive it against its end stop.
• Use a strainer/filter: EEV seating surfaces are more sensitive to particles than those of a thermostatic valve.
