Sporlan OVE-40-CP100 Thermostatic Expansion Valve – 140 kW / 40 Ton, R407C

Sporlan OVE-40-CP100 is an externally equalized thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) for R407C / R22 refrigerants. With a nominal capacity of 140 kW (≈40 tons), it regulates the liquid feed to the evaporator according to the suction line superheat. It has a CP100 thermostatic charge, and thanks to its external equalizer connection it opens correctly even in evaporators with a high pressure drop.

Sporlan TXV: The Reference Valve in the Field

• Externally equalized: The design required for evaporators with a distributor and long coils.
• Replaceable power element: On Sporlan bodies the thermostatic head can be renewed separately; the charge is changed without removing the body.

• 🔧 Mount the sensing bulb on the suction line at the 3-4 o'clock position, clamp it tightly and insulate it; a loose bulb makes the valve overfeed.
• Connect the external equalizer line 15-20 cm downstream of the bulb, on top of the suction line.
• Cool the body with a wet cloth during soldering — the power element charge is damaged by heat.
• Do not move the superheat setting far from the factory value; in case of instability, first check the refrigerant charge and bulb contact.
