Sporlan EBSSE-10-C Balanced Port Thermostatic Expansion Valve – 35 kW / 10 Ton, R404A

Sporlan EBSSE-10-C, R404A refrigerant-specific externally equalized thermostatic expansion valve (TXV). With 35 kW (≈10 ton) nominal capacity, it regulates the liquid feed to the evaporator according to the suction line superheat. It has a C thermostatic charge, and thanks to its external equalizer connection it also opens correctly on evaporators with a high pressure drop.

Body note: Sporlan Type EBS is a brass block body of the same physical size as Type S; the difference is its balanced port design — it provides stable feed in systems where the condensing pressure varies over a wide range (winter/summer operation, floating condensing).

Sporlan TXV: The Field's Reference Valve

• 35 kW nominal capacity — verify the selection against the Sporlan capacity table for your evaporating/condensing conditions.
• Externally equalized: A design required for evaporators with distributors and long coils.
• Replaceable power element: On Sporlan bodies the thermostatic head can be replaced separately; the charge is changed without removing the body.

• 🔧 Attach the sensor (bulb) to the suction line at the 3-4 o'clock position firmly and insulate it; a loose sensor makes the valve overfeed.
• Take the external equalizer line 15-20 cm after the sensor, from the top of the suction line.
• Cool the body with a wet cloth while brazing — the power element charge is damaged by heat.
• Do not move the superheat setting far from the factory value; in case of instability, first check the refrigerant charge and sensor contact.
