Sanhua SD-17 (factory/order code SH043 — SD-17 and SH043 refer to the same product) is a 100% aluminum microchannel condenser coil from the Sanhua MCHE standard series. It is a 1324 × 622.6 mm single slab (1 bank) design, 25.4 mm deep, with 65 flat tubes and 2 passes. Depending on air velocity, it provides 4.7 - 32.3 kW (16,086 - 110,157 BTU/h) heat rejection with R410A. The all-aluminum (AA3003) body eliminates galvanic corrosion; the inlet/outlet tubes are copper for easy brazing.

Aluminum Microchannel Condenser Coil

SD-17 / SH043 is a single slab microchannel condenser consisting of fins + flat tubes + end manifolds. The manifold diameter is 2ר32 mm, the fin density is 23 FPI and the fin height is 8.1 mm. The refrigerant distribution is divided into 2 passes as 45/20 (inlet/outlet). The maximum working pressure is 45 bar (4.5 MPa) and the burst pressure is 135 bar (13.5 MPa), with an internal volume of only 1.634 liters — requiring a much smaller refrigerant charge than a conventional condenser.

Technician Tips

  • SD-17 = SH043: Both codes are the same product; use both codes when sourcing and searching.
  • Connections are copper: Since the inlet/outlet tubes are copper, they are brazed to the field tubing in the normal way — no aluminum brazing is needed. However, the coil body is aluminum; a hole/crack in the body requires special aluminum welding and is often not economical.
  • Capacity depends heavily on air velocity: ~4.7 kW at 0.5 m/s rises to ~32.3 kW at 4.5 m/s. Select your fan airflow according to your capacity target.
  • As a condenser, mount it vertically (or tilted at least 15° from horizontal), positioned with the inlet connection at the top.
  • Clean the fin surface regularly with low-pressure air/water in the fin direction; high pressure flattens the fins and reduces capacity.
  • Take care to avoid impacts/crushing of the flat tubes during transport and installation.
