Designed for shut-off in large-diameter commercial and industrial refrigeration / air conditioning lines, the Sanhua SBV(M)-JA33YHSY-2-SA is a full port ball valve (Sanhua code: 10150056202). It has 4 1/8 inch (105 mm) ODF copper solder connections, is bidirectional and has low pressure loss. Thanks to the integrated service port (Schrader / access fitting), evacuation, refrigerant charging and pressure measurement can be carried out directly on the valve.

Technician Recommendations

• Braze the large 4 1/8 inch connections under nitrogen; protect the valve body with a wet cloth or heat-absorbing paste during brazing (excessive heat damages the seat seal).
• Braze the valve while holding it in the position specified in the manufacturer's instructions; direct the flame away from the body to prevent overheating.
• Use the service port for evacuation / charging / measurement; after the work, tighten the Schrader cap so that it is leak-tight.
• Operate it fully open or fully closed with a 1/4 turn; leaving it partially open for long periods causes wear on the ball and seal.
