Designed for flow shut-off in large-diameter commercial and industrial refrigeration / air conditioning lines, this is the Sanhua SBV(M)-JA29YHSY-1-SA full port ball valve (Sanhua code: 10150056902). It has 3 5/8 inch (92 mm) ODF copper solder connections, is bidirectional and has a low pressure drop. Thanks to the integrated service port (Schrader / access fitting), evacuation, refrigerant charging and pressure measurement can be carried out directly through the valve.

Technician Tips

• Braze the large 3 5/8 inch connections under nitrogen; protect the valve body with a wet cloth or heat-absorbing paste during brazing (excessive heat damages the seat seal).
• Braze the valve held in the position specified in the manufacturer's instructions; direct the flame away from the body to prevent overheating.
• Use the service port for evacuation / charging / measurement; after the work, tighten the Schrader cap leak-tight.
• Operate fully open or fully closed with a 1/4 turn; leaving it partially open for long periods causes wear on the ball and seal.
