Ideal for fast, reliable repair of small holes and cracks in air conditioning, refrigeration systems and installation pipes, the LA-CO Heat Seal Stik® Epoxy Leak Repair Compound is one of the most useful aids for professionals in the field. Providing excellent adhesion on copper, aluminum, metal, glass and ceramic surfaces, this product permanently stops leaks in refrigerant, water, oil and gas lines.

Fast Repair That Withstands Harsh Conditions

Allowing fast repair without keeping systems shut down for long, Heat Seal Stik withstands pressures up to 600 PSI (41 BAR) and temperatures up to 350°F (177°C). This special heat-cured formula melts and penetrates into cracks, and when it cools it forms a strong, permanent sealing layer that can be sanded and painted. Its NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 certification also attests to its reliability.

Key Technical Specifications and Equipment

The technical details of this epoxy repair stick, made for demanding repair jobs, are as follows:

  • Model / Part No.: LA-CO Heat Seal Stik® (Part No. 11575)
  • Weight: 3/8 OZ. (11.7 grams)
  • Compatible Surfaces: Copper, aluminum and other metals; also glass and ceramic.
  • Compatible Media: All refrigerants, ammonia, SO2, gas, oil, air, steam and water.
  • Resistance Ratings: Leak-tight up to a maximum pressure of 600 PSI (41 BAR) and a temperature of 350°F (177°C).
  • Quality Certificate: NSF certified (Certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61).

Practical Usage Note for Field Technicians

Technician's Note: Before the repair, scrape and brush the surface to remove all dirt, oil or rust (do not use steel wool). Heat the surface with a heat gun or torch. Never apply the flame directly to the Heat Seal Stik! Rub the stick on the heated surface so that it melts, and form a thin layer of approximately 0.8 mm (1/32") over the hole/crack. After application, pass a gentle flame over the compound for about 1 minute. Curing is complete when the compound turns olive green in color. Allow it to cool. Remember: for a clean repair next time, cut off and discard the used end of the stick after finishing.
