HVAC Valve Core Removal and Installation Tool
- Stock: In Stock
- Brand: Hengsen
- Model: 01 41 181
The Hengsen HS-1430 valve core removal and installation tool is used to remove and fit the valve core (Schrader valve core) of service valves in air conditioning and refrigeration systems without releasing the refrigerant from the system. It fits 1/4 inch and, with its adapter, 5/16 inch (R410A, R32) service ports.
The ball valve in the body holds the system pressure while the core is withdrawn. With the core removed, vacuum or refrigerant charging can be carried out through the side port; a vacuum is pulled much faster on a line without the core. The same method is used to replace leaking, stuck or damaged valve cores.
How to Use
- Open the ball valve of the tool and pull the stem fully back.
- Hand-tighten the tool onto the service valve; use the adapter on 5/16 inch ports.
- Push the stem forward, seat its tip on the core and unscrew the core by turning counter-clockwise.
- Pull the stem fully back together with the core and close the ball valve.
- Loosen the stem cap and take the core out. The ball valve holds the system pressure during this step.
- To fit the core, carry out the procedure in reverse order: fit the core to the stem, open the valve, push the stem in and tighten the core clockwise.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the valve core be replaced without releasing the refrigerant?
Yes. After the tool is connected to the service valve, the core is withdrawn behind the ball valve and taken out; the refrigerant in the system stays in place.
Can it be used on R410A and R32 air conditioners?
Yes. The adapter in the box is used for the 5/16 inch service ports on these systems.
Why is a vacuum pulled faster when the core is removed?
The core restricts the passage in the service port. When it is removed and the vacuum is pulled through the side port, the line is evacuated through a wider cross-section and the time is shortened.
