Hpeok PKEK-032S is a solid core filter drier fitted in the liquid line of refrigeration and air conditioning circuits — known in the field as a solid core drier. By retaining moisture, acid and solid particles in the refrigerant, it prevents blockage of the expansion valve or capillary tube and acid-related winding damage in the compressor. Its connection is 1/4 inch ODF solder, with inlet and outlet of the same size.
It is the smallest model in the PKEK series: overall length 110 mm, body diameter Ø43 mm. In small circuits — commercial refrigerator and freezer units, bottle coolers, water dispensers, small display cases and split lines with capillary tubes — it is the standard size. In installations with limited space, this body comes into play when the other models in the series do not fit.
The desiccant fill is not loose granules but a single pressed block. In granular driers, the beads rub against each other under vibration and produce dust, and the fill settles over time, opening a bypass channel inside; this does not happen with a block core, and the filtration characteristics remain intact. This is important in small circuits: the slightest dust released blocks the capillary tube.
The outside of the body is coated with epoxy powder paint; it withstands harsh conditions such as UV, moisture and salt air. The arrow on the body shows the flow direction — if the drier is fitted backwards, the filter element is loaded from the wrong direction.
Refrigerants listed on the product label: R22, R407C, R502, R134a, R404A, R507. It works in both HCFC and HFC circuits, with mineral and POE oil.
In the PKEK series, the leading digits give the body class (03 < 05 < 08 < 16 < 30) and the last digit the connection size: 2 1/4 inch, 3 3/8 inch, 4 1/2 inch, 5 5/8 inch. An S at the end indicates a solder (ODF) connection; models without S are flare.
There are two models sharing the same 1/4 inch solder connection: PKEK-032S 110 mm / Ø43 mm and the next body size up, PKEK-052S 116 mm / Ø63.5 mm. The length is almost the same; the real difference is the diameter — with its wider body, the 052S holds more desiccant and therefore has a higher moisture holding capacity. The size that fits a narrow slot is the 032S. The flare equivalent of this product is PKEK-032 (113 mm).
It is used in small capacity circuits with a 1/4 inch liquid line: commercial refrigerators, freezers, bottle coolers and water dispensers, small display cabinets, ice machines and split air conditioner lines with capillary tubes.
Both are 1/4 inch ODF solder and their lengths are close (110 mm / 116 mm); the difference is the body diameter: 032S Ø43 mm, 052S Ø63.5 mm. A wider body means more desiccant and therefore a higher moisture holding capacity. If the mounting slot is narrow choose the 032S; if capacity is your priority, choose the 052S.
It fits a 1/4 inch liquid line. Both inlet and outlet are 1/4 inch ODF solder connections; no adapter fitting is needed.
In a solid core drier, the desiccant is a single pressed block; in the granular type it consists of loose beads. A block core does not crumble and release dust under vibration, and does not settle over time and open a bypass channel inside. In small circuits with capillary tubes, this difference directly reduces the risk of blockage.
R22, R407C, R502, R134a, R404A and R507 are listed on the product label. The design pressure is 42 bar (4,200 kPa / 609 psi).
Overall length is 110 mm, the distance between connection ends is 66 mm, and the body diameter is Ø43 mm. It is the smallest body in the PKEK series.
The arrow on the body shows the flow direction; it is fitted so that the arrow points in the direction of flow from the condenser to the capillary tube or expansion valve.
The body must not overheat; during brazing, the drier body is protected with a wet cloth or heat-blocking paste. The desiccant core loses its properties at excessive temperature. Because the small body heats up more quickly, this precaution is especially necessary with the 032S. After brazing, refrigerant must not be charged until the circuit has been evacuated.
