Hpeok PKEK-032 is a solid-core filter drier fitted to the liquid line of refrigeration and air conditioning circuits — known in the field as a "stone" drier. By retaining moisture, acid and solid particles in the refrigerant, it prevents clogging of the expansion valve or capillary tube and acid-induced winding damage to the compressor. Its connection is 1/4 inch SAE threaded (flare); inlet and outlet are the same size.
It is the smallest body in the PKEK series: overall length 113 mm, body diameter Ø43 mm. It is the standard size for small circuits — commercial refrigerator and deep freezer units, bottle coolers, water dispensers, small display cabinets, ice makers and split lines with capillary tubes.
Field advantage of the flare connection: no brazing is needed for installation and removal, and no flame is required. The ends have male SAE flare threads; the copper pipe end is flared and tightened with a nut. It is preferred in flammable environments, tight spaces where brazing is not possible and service lines with periodic drier replacement. The brazed (ODF) equivalent of the same body is the PKEK-032S.
The desiccant filling is not loose granules but a single-piece pressed block. In granular driers, the beads rub against each other under vibration and produce dust, and the filling settles over time, opening a bypass channel inside; this does not happen with a block core. This matters in small circuits: even the smallest released dust clogs the capillary tube. The solid particle retention level is 40 microns, and the pressure drop is low.
The outside of the body is coated with epoxy powder paint; it withstands harsh conditions such as UV, moisture and salty air. The arrow on the body shows the flow direction — if the drier is installed backwards, the filter element is loaded from the wrong side.
Refrigerants listed on the product label: R22, R407C, R502, R134a, R404A, R507. It works in both HCFC and HFC circuits, with mineral and POE oil.
In the PKEK series, the leading digits give the body class (03 < 05 < 08 < 16 < 30) and the last digit gives the connection size: 2 1/4 inch, 3 3/8 inch, 4 1/2 inch, 5 5/8 inch. A trailing S indicates a brazed (ODF solder) connection; models without S are flare type.
1/4 inch connection is available in four models: flare PKEK-032 (113 mm / Ø43 mm) and PKEK-052 (119 mm / Ø63.5 mm); brazed PKEK-032S (110 mm / Ø43 mm) and PKEK-052S (116 mm / Ø63.5 mm). The lengths are close to each other; the main difference is in the body diameter — with its wider body, the 05x series holds more desiccant and therefore has a higher moisture retention capacity. The size that fits a narrow slot is 03x.
