Practical Usage Note for Technicians in the Field

Technician’s Note: Since the system volume is large on 24,000 BTU units, after removing the old compressor it is very important to completely remove acidic oil and moisture remaining in the pipes (nitrogen purging and a long, deep vacuum). When installing the new compressor, avoid excessive heat while brazing the suction and discharge lines. Since this high-capacity motor will have a high starting (inrush) current, always replace the unit’s run capacitor with a new one of the original rating during installation.
