Flow Turbines and Turbine Sensors

The combi boiler water flow turbine detects the flow of water passing through the boiler when the hot water tap is opened. The turbine sensor (magnetic sensor) reads the rotation of the turbine and transmits it to the PCB, and the boiler switches to hot water mode.

Fault Symptoms

• The boiler does not switch to hot water mode when the tap is opened, or switches late.
• Hot water comes intermittently; the boiler cuts out at low flow rates.
• The turbine is scaled up or its impeller does not turn.

When Choosing

• Check the boiler brand and model and the code on the old part.
• The turbine and the sensor are separate parts; whichever one is faulty is replaced.
