Country of Manufacture: Italy. Elke Poe 68, supplied in 5-liter packaging and rated at viscosity grade 68, is a refrigeration compressor oil. Clear and pale yellow at 20 °C in liquid form, with its pour point below -35 °C, it keeps your systems protected even in cold conditions.

• Flash Point: per the ASTM D 92 standard, 250 °C.
• Density: at 20 °C, approximately 960 kg/m³, delivering reliable performance.
• Water Solubility: Provides protection against moisture with its hygroscopic structure.
• Acid Value: Below 0.1 mg KOH/g, high purity and protection.
• Biodegradability: according to the OECD 301B test, more than 60%, an environmentally friendly product.
• Dielectric Strength: per IEC 60156 @ 24 °C, >75 kV, electrical safety.
• Kinematic Viscosity: 64-72 cSt at 40 °C and 8.8-9.2 cSt at 100 °C, superior fluidity and heat dissipation.
• ASHRAE 97 Thermal Stability: Clean and deposit-free performance in the 175 °C, 336-hour test.

Reliable Performance According to Test Results

Elke Poe 68 has shown superior performance under demanding test conditions, achieving excellent results in areas such as water content, acidity (TAN) values and viscosity change. The absence of metal mobilization proves that it provides long-term protection and performance in your refrigeration systems.

Compatible Refrigerants and Applications

• Compatible refrigerants: Compatible with R134a, R404A, R407C, R410A, R32, R507, R22 and R1234yf (Elke refrigerant–oil compatibility table; full list on datasheet page 4).
• Not used: Not used in ammonia (R717) systems; the manufacturer recommends mineral oil for these systems.
• Compressor type: ISO VG 68 grade POE, used in both reciprocating compressors and screw compressors (the manufacturer lists it in both groups).
• Use: Initial compressor fill and oil top-up; retrofit from R12 / R22 / R502 to HFC refrigerants in systems with mineral or alkylbenzene oil residue.
• Miscibility: Miscible with mineral, alkylbenzene, PAO and other POE oils; incompatible with PAG oils. Properties change when mixed with oil of a different viscosity.
• Protection: Anti-wear additive package for steel and aluminum surfaces; rust and corrosion protection including copper alloys; compatible with paints, coatings and elastomers.
• Water content: Below 50 ppm in new product.

Storage and Handling Warnings

• POE oil is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air: close the container tightly immediately after use; store in a dry place between −20 … +40 °C.
• If the product has been stored below −20 °C, warm it above 20 °C before use.
• Packaging: 5 L plastic container, approx. 186 × 131 × 288 mm (2 per carton).
