Designed for supermarket, cold room, display cabinet and process cooling applications, the Danfoss MLZ058T4LC9B is a fixed-speed commercial refrigeration scroll compressor (Danfoss code: 121L8450). Its new-generation Evolution B design is ready for the low-GWP refrigerants R455A and R454C (A2L). With 125.95 cm³ displacement and 7.5 HP power, it delivers a cooling capacity of approximately 22,636 W (77,236 BTU/h) at HBP conditions. It also works with R404A, R448A, R449A, R452A and R134a; it is charged with POE oil and has brazed (ODF) connections.

MLZ series Maneurop scroll compressors provide reliable performance in medium and high evaporating temperature (MT/HT) refrigeration applications with few moving parts, low vibration and high efficiency. The Evolution B generation is optimized for the transition to low global warming potential (low GWP) A2L refrigerants. With a supply range of 380-415V/3/50Hz and 460V/3/60Hz, it runs on both 50 Hz and 60 Hz networks.

Technician Recommendations

• A2L warning: R455A and R454C are mildly flammable (A2L) refrigerants; installation and servicing must comply with TS EN 378 / A2L rules, and a suitable leak detector and ventilation must be provided.
• Braze the 1 1/8 inch suction and 7/8 inch discharge ODF connections under nitrogen to prevent internal oxidation.
• POE oil absorbs moisture; keep the compressor sealed until the moment of installation and evacuate the system thoroughly before commissioning.
• Scroll direction of rotation is critical; verify the phase sequence at first start-up (in reverse rotation no pressure builds up and noise increases).
