CLD-100 Halogen Refrigerant Leak Detector (Flexible Probe, 6 Levels)

CLD-100 is a halogen leak detector with a corona sensor used in split air conditioners, cold rooms, commercial refrigeration and vehicle air conditioning to locate refrigerant leaks. Instead of checking fittings one by one with soap bubbles, you move the 20 cm flexible probe along the line; as the detector approaches the leak, the beep rate increases and the LED flashes faster. In hard-to-reach places (behind the unit, narrow shafts, inside the evaporator), the flexible probe bends to reach in.

Which Refrigerants It Detects and How It Alerts

• Sensitive to all halogenated refrigerants (containing chlorine and fluorine): CFC (R12, R11, R500, R503…), HCFC (R22, R123, R124, R502…), HFC (R134a, R404A, R125…) and blends such as AZ-50, HP62, MP39.
• Halogen gases in fire suppression systems are also detected.
• 6-level sensitivity adjustment: It is on the same button as on/off. In a gas-heavy environment you lower the level to narrow down to the source of the leak; for small leaks you raise the level.
• Dual alarm: Audible (buzzer) + visual (LED) alarm; the light helps in a noisy machine room, the sound in a dark suspended ceiling.
• Fast response: Warms up in 6 seconds and responds to a leak in less than 3 seconds; when moved away from the leak point it resets itself in 2-10 seconds and you continue searching. It has a continuous operation mode with no time limit.

• 🔧 Move the probe slowly. Leak searching is done at 2-5 cm per second; if you pass a fitting quickly, the probe passes the leak before the detector can respond. At a suspicious point, hold the probe still and wait for the beep rate to increase.
• Search from below. Refrigerants are heavier than air; a leak seeps toward the underside of the joint. Pass the probe along the underside of fittings and brazed joints.
• Lower the level in windy/contaminated environments. Air currents disperse the gas and heavy contamination causes false alarms; lowering the level and bringing the probe closer to the source gives more reliable results.
• Final confirmation: Confirm the point indicated by the detector with soap bubbles or bubble spray and pressure test with nitrogen after the repair — the detector finds WHERE the leak is, the pressure test verifies the repair.
• Sensor life: Corona sensors are consumable parts; store the device in its case in a clean, dry place and protect the probe from impact.
