This is a vibration-damping rubber mount set with a bellows (convoluted) design, specially designed to minimize the operating vibration of air conditioner outdoor units, refrigeration units and commercial compressors. With much greater flex than conventional flat or conical mounts, this design perfectly absorbs the horizontal and vertical twisting of the compressor at start-up, preventing resonance noise and tube cracks in the system.

Field Installation Advantages and Technician Tips

• When replacing a failed compressor, never reuse the old, heat-hardened and crushed mounts removed from the chassis with the new compressor. Hardened mounts transmit vibration directly to the copper tubes and soon cause hairline refrigerant leaks.
• Because bellows (convoluted) models are highly flexible, do not tighten the bolts or nuts so much that the mount is fully compressed (the convolutions touch each other) during installation. Leaving moderate flex so the rubber can work is the key to noise isolation.
