When Should the 3-Way Valve Cartridge Be Replaced?

• If water leaks from the 3-way valve body or the cartridge stem sticks.

When Replacing

• Switch off the boiler, let it cool down and reduce the system pressure to zero.
• Remove the 3-way valve motor, take out the clip holding the cartridge and pull the old cartridge out of its seat.
• Seat the new cartridge with its O-rings, then refit the clip and the motor.
• Refill the system to 1–1.5 bar and check that the valve switches correctly in the hot water and heating positions.
