Specially formulated to achieve excellent results when brazing aluminum and aluminum alloys, the ASA 5420 Aluminum Brazing Flux is the greatest helper of professional welders. Supplied in a practical 250-gram pack, this powder flux effectively cleans the oxide layer on the surface before brazing, ensuring a smooth joint.

Clean Surfaces and High-Efficiency Brazing

When used before brazing, it removes dirt, oil and stubborn aluminum oxides that make it hard for the filler metal to adhere to the surface. This lets the brazing rod or alloy penetrate capillary gaps much better and spread evenly, guaranteeing that the joint is much more efficient, leak-tight and strong. It is an indispensable consumable, especially for brazing aluminum pipes in the air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration and automotive sectors.

Key Technical Specifications and Standards

The key technical details of this flux, manufactured in accordance with international welding standards, are as follows:

  • Brand and Model: ASA 5420 Aluminum Brazing Flux (Flux Powder)
  • Package Quantity: 250 gr
  • Working Temperature: Performs optimally in the 515 °C - 630 °C range.
  • Compliant Standards: Fully compliant with DIN 8511 F-LH1 and AWS/A5.31 FBC-1 standards.
  • Application: As an oxide remover when brazing aluminum and its alloys.
  • Material Form: High-quality, easy-adhering fine powder form.

Practical Usage Note for Field Technicians

Technician's Note: Cleaning coarse dirt from the aluminum surface with a stainless steel wire brush before you start brazing maximizes the effect of the flux. Dip the tip of the heated brazing rod into the powder flux so that it sticks to the rod, then apply it to the joint area. After the work is complete and the part has cooled, be sure to clean the flux residue left on the joint with hot water and a brush. Flux residue that is not cleaned off can cause corrosion (oxidation) on the aluminum over time.
