Technical Specifications and Field Usage Notes

• Choose capacity to suit the job. 7 CFM saves meaningful time on large-volume systems such as multi-indoor-unit VRF lines, long copper installations and commercial refrigeration circuits. For single split installations, the 1.5-3 CFM class is sufficient; an oversized pump does not improve vacuum quality, it only shortens the time.
• Do not neglect the vacuum oil. The ultimate vacuum value (5 Pa) can only be achieved with clean oil. The oil absorbs moisture after every evacuation; change oil that has turned cloudy and run the pump with the oil level sight glass at the middle.
• Shut-down sequence after evacuation: When finished, first close the manifold valve, then stop the pump. If done in reverse, the pump oil is sucked back into the system by the vacuum.
• Verify the vacuum in microns/Pa. The manifold gauge needle is not precise enough to measure vacuum; for critical work use a digital vacuum gauge, stop the pump and watch that the pressure does not rise (leak/moisture test).
• Short hose, large bore: A long, thin charging hose hides the performance of a 7 CFM pump. If possible, use a short, large-diameter vacuum hose with fully open valves.
• Run the pump on a level surface without blocking its ventilation; the body heats up during prolonged use, so let it cool before carrying it.
