Artiko Inverter Refrigerator and Air Conditioner Tester is a test device with a display used to identify on site which part is faulty in inverter (variable frequency) refrigerator and air conditioning systems. It lets you run and observe the circuit components — from the compressor to the fan motor, from the electronic expansion valve to the temperature sensor — one by one, without removing them from the system.

Inverter Refrigerator and Air Conditioner Fault Diagnosis in a Single Device

The question that wastes the most time on inverter systems is: is the fault in the board, the compressor or the motor? A conventional multimeter cannot answer this question, because inverter compressors and DC motors only start turning when the correct signal and voltage are applied. This device generates that signal itself: it powers and runs the part directly and shows the voltage (V), current (A) and frequency (Hz) on the display.

The difference a display makes. Testers without a display only tell you "turned / did not turn". With this model you can read the operating current on the display and, by increasing and decreasing the frequency, observe the behavior of the compressor in each frequency band. If the current is within the normal range, the part is sound and the fault is in the board — this is where the diagnosis becomes clear.

Testable Parts and Socket Layout

  • Inverter compressor: U · V · W output, with fault warning lamp
  • Inverter board: single signal line and dual signal line board test · separate PWM signal input (+/−)
  • Air conditioner DC motor: six separate sockets for 3-wire and 5-wire motors — PG · VSP · 15V · GND · 310V pin layout · plus an AC fan PG test socket
  • Refrigerator DC fan: 12V · PWM · FB · GND · additional DC FAN socket (GND · FB · 12V · PWM)
  • Electronic expansion valve (EEV): separate 5-wire and 6-wire sockets (A+ B+ A− B− COM)
  • Motorized damper: A+ B+ A− B− HE
  • Electric valve: A+ B+ COM A− B−
  • Pulse solenoid valve: positive and negative pulses are applied separately
  • Temperature sensor: 2K · 5K · 10K + COM terminals
  • Other: PWM IN / PWM OUT · POWER OUT · SPEED potentiometer for speed adjustment · 310V and PG status LEDs

Its manual also states that range hood inverter motors and washing machine inverter motors can be tested from the same sockets.

Display and Operation

  • Inverter compressor test: V · A · Hz are shown together on the display; the frequency is increased and decreased with the UP / DOWN buttons.
  • Inverter board test: first single signal or dual signal is selected, then the voltmeter and ammeter values are read.
  • Pulse valve test: positive and negative pulses are applied separately; if the valve makes a switching sound and the flow direction changes, the valve is sound.
  • The control has three buttons: start · pause · return.
  • ⚠️ 310 V warning: As clearly marked on the device — while the red LED is lit, there is a high voltage of 310 V in the upper socket area; do not touch. Always make connections with the device switched off.
  • 🔧 A known-good compressor is required for the inverter board test. The manual's own note: in the board test, an inverter compressor known to work is paired with the board; if the compressor turns and the current is within the normal range, the board is sound.
  • 🔧 The inverter motor is tested without load (no-load); the air conditioner fan motor, however, can be tested under load.
  • Temperature sensor measurement: the sensor is connected to the 2K / 5K / 10K terminals and the resistance read is compared with the expected value at ambient temperature. For a more accurate result, a side-by-side measurement with a known-good sensor is recommended.
  • Box contents: the device is supplied together with a carrying case and a multi-socket test cable set. The mains cable is a figure-8 (IEC C7) type; the device has an on/off switch and a fuse.
