The Value VCR1 service tool is a brass-body tool used to remove and install the valve core (Schrader valve core) in air conditioning and refrigeration systems while the system is under pressure, without refrigerant loss. Because it removes the core completely from the line during evacuation and charging, it eliminates the flow resistance created by the valve core; a deep vacuum of 20 micron is reached noticeably faster. With its dual 1/4" and 5/16" female connections, it lets you work on both conventional and R410A/R32 service valves with one tool.

Why VCR1?

• Evacuation with the valve core installed is slow because of the narrow passage of the core and makes it difficult to reach a deep vacuum. VCR1 removes the core and opens the line fully; when the job is done, it reinstalls the core under pressure. When replacing a leaking valve core, it completely eliminates the cost of recovering and recharging the refrigerant in the system.

Technician Tips

• When used together with Rapid-Y adapters (VRF1028 / VRF1029) and wide 3/8" hoses, you complete a manifold-free evacuation and refrigerant recovery set for maximum speed.
• Before removing the valve core, retract the rod fully and connect the tool to the valve leak-tight; after removing the core, you can monitor the actual system vacuum with a vacuum gauge on the side port.
