Sporlan ERZE/BBIZE-12.5-GA Thermostatic Expansion Valve – 43.8 kW / 12.5 Ton, R410A

Sporlan ERZE/BBIZE-12.5-GA is an externally equalized thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) for R410A refrigerant. With a nominal capacity of 43.8 kW (≈12.5 tons), it regulates the liquid feed to the evaporator according to the suction line superheat. The GA thermostatic charge and the external equalizer connection allow it to open correctly even on evaporators with a high pressure drop.

Naming note: In Parker's current catalogs this valve is sold under the code BBIZE-12.5-GA; the old Sporlan designation is ERZE-12.5-GA. Both codes describe the same product — either may be printed on the box.

Sporlan TXV: The Field Reference Valve

• Externally equalized: The design required for evaporators with distributors and long circuits.
• Replaceable power element: On Sporlan bodies the thermostatic head can be replaced separately; the charge can be changed without removing the body.

• 🔧 Fasten the sensing bulb to the suction line at the 3-4 o'clock position firmly and insulate it; a loose bulb makes the valve overfeed.
• Take the external equalizer line 15-20 cm downstream of the bulb, from the top of the suction line.
• Cool the body with a wet cloth during brazing — the power element charge is damaged by heat.
• Do not move the superheat setting far from the factory value; if hunting occurs, first check the refrigerant charge and the bulb contact.
