Sanhua MDF-A02-6H002 is a pilot-operated (diaphragm-actuated) solenoid valve that electrically shuts off and opens refrigerant flow in refrigeration, freezing, air conditioning and heat pump circuits. In the trade it is also searched for under the spelling selenoid valve; it is the same product.

This Valve Is NORMALLY OPEN (NO) — It Behaves Opposite to the MDF-A03 Series

🚨 Be sure to read before ordering. The Sanhua MDF family has two different behaviors, and the codes differ by a single character:

• MDF-A02 (this product) → NORMALLY OPEN (NO): when the coil is de-energized, the valve is OPEN, and refrigerant flows. When the coil is energized, it closes.
• MDF-A03 → NORMALLY CLOSED (NC): closed when the coil is de-energized, opens when energized. Most of the other MDF valves in our catalog are of this type.

The choice depends on what you want the line to do when power is lost: if you want the line to stay open, choose NO (this product); if you want it to close, choose NC. If the wrong type is bought, the system works the exact opposite way.

• ⚠️ COIL NOT INCLUDED. Datasheet scope of delivery: valve body only ("valve body without coil"). The coil must be ordered separately; AC and DC options are available. Coils are sold as separate products on our site.
• 🔧 Installation: The coil is mounted facing up, and the flow direction must match the arrow on the body. A pilot-operated valve installed backwards will not open.
• Can be used in the liquid, suction and discharge lines.
• ⚠️ A pilot-operated valve needs a minimum differential pressure: Min. OPD is 0.02 MPa. If the differential pressure is below this, the valve will not open fully — keep this in mind on very short lines and in circuits with low pressure differences.
• Cool the body with a wet cloth while brazing and braze with a nitrogen purge; the diaphragm is damaged by heat.
