- Stock: In Stock
- Brand: Honeywell
- Model: 42.06.009
Resideo (Honeywell) AEL-222201 is an automatic expansion valve (constant pressure valve). The difference from a thermostatic valve: it does not operate according to superheat but according to evaporating pressure — it keeps the evaporator pressure constant at the set value. It opens when the load drops and throttles when the load increases; this keeps the evaporator pressure, and therefore its temperature, constant.
Constant Evaporating Pressure: Stable Cooling at Small Capacity
According to the official Honeywell documentation, the AEL series is designed for systems with single-injection evaporators without a distributor: air conditioners, dehumidifiers, air dryers, water coolers and ice machines. Load is highly variable in these applications; while a thermostatic valve goes into hunting, a constant pressure valve keeps the evaporator stable and prevents freezing.
AEL 1.0 is one of the small sizes in the series — it gives a rated capacity of 2.0 kW with R22 and 1.4 kW with R134a/R404A. It is suitable for small water coolers, mini dehumidifiers and low-capacity display units.

Adjustment and Installation
- 🔧 Adjusting screw: One full turn changes the evaporating pressure by approximately 0.8 bar. Clockwise = pressure increases, counterclockwise = pressure decreases. Turn in small steps and verify with a pressure gauge.
- Can be mounted in any position — horizontal or vertical makes no difference.
- 🔥 The body must not exceed 100 °C during brazing. Cool it with a wet cloth; excessive heat permanently damages the diaphragm and the adjusting spring.
- Remove the plastic cap before brazing — it melts and sticks to the valve.
- No structural modification may be made to the valve (drilling, welding, machining of the body) — the manufacturer explicitly prohibits this.
- ⚠️ Check the connection size: This model is metric (6 × 10 mm). If an inch connection is required, choose the AEL-222211 (1/4" × 3/8") model with the same capacity — it is also available on our site.
