Panasonic KSHL15A15AA Horizontal Low-Temperature Compressor – 965 W / 3,300 BTU, LBP, R404A

Panasonic KSHL15A15AA is a low-temperature compressor of horizontal-body hermetic rotary design, made for low back pressure (LBP) applications. It is cooled by liquid injection and can operate at evaporating temperatures down to −45 °C. It is used in upright freezer cabinets, blast freezers, supermarket freezers and low-height units.

Horizontal Body + Liquid Injection: Low-Temperature Refrigeration Down to −45 °C

• Horizontal design: Thanks to its low body height, it fits into narrow machine compartments under upright cabinets — it goes where a vertical compressor will not.
• Liquid injection cooling: Controlled liquid refrigerant is fed into the compressor so that the discharge temperature does not rise to a dangerous level at low evaporating temperatures. This allows safe operation down to −45 °C; this is the range where normal LBP compressors hit their limit.
• Wide operating range: Evaporating −45 … 0 °C, condensing +30 … +60 °C — it also works in hot machine rooms.
• Multi-refrigerant: In addition to R404A, it can also be used with the low-GWP alternatives R452A, R448A and R449A.
• Single-phase: 220 V ~ 50/60 Hz — no three-phase required.

• 🔧 Do not run it without the liquid injection line. This compressor gets its body cooling from the injection line; if the line is not connected or the capillary is clogged, the discharge temperature rises and the winding burns out. The manufacturer's capillary reference is 0.8 × 1,500 mm.
• Keep the capacitor values exactly the same: Start 80 µF and run 35 µF (450 V). A wrong value strains the start.
• Horizontal mounting is required — this body is designed to operate horizontally; do not position it upright.
• The refrigerant charge must not exceed 1,500 g — this is the manufacturer's limit.
• Ester oil absorbs moisture: Open the plugs just before installation and dry the system with a deep vacuum.
