Testo 810 (product code 0560 0810) is a two-channel infrared thermometer that measures non-contact surface temperature and air temperature at the same time. With its infrared sensor it measures −30 … +300 °C surface temperature, with its built-in NTC sensor −10 … +50 °C air temperature, and it shows the differential temperature between the two directly on the display. With 6:1 optics and single-point laser marking, the measured spot is clearly targeted.

Pocket Thermometer Measuring Surface and Air Temperature Simultaneously

In heating, ventilation and air conditioning applications, the surface temperature of a radiator, vent or window is measured at the press of a button and compared with the ambient air. When the measuring button is released, the value is held on the display (Hold); max. and min. values can be viewed and reset. Emissivity can be adjusted between 0.2 … 0.99 according to the material measured; the factory setting is 0.95. The illuminated display makes reading easier in dark spots.

Its small body can be carried in a pocket; a protective cap and belt pouch are included in the scope of delivery. The temperature unit can be selected as °C or °F, and auto power-off (10 minutes) can be switched on or off.

Technician Tips

• Do not measure shiny metal directly: the emissivity of shiny metal surfaces is very low (approx. 0.04 for polished rolled aluminum and slightly tarnished copper); stick emissivity tape on the measuring spot or apply matte paint.
• Set the distance according to the measuring spot: with 6:1 optics, an area about 11 cm in diameter is measured from 60 cm; for small targets, bring the device closer so that surrounding surfaces do not affect the measurement.
• Wait when the environment changes: when you move from indoors to outdoors or to an environment with a different temperature, wait about 15 minutes for the device to stabilize.
• Keep the lens clean: do not measure with a fogged or dirty lens; make sure there is no steam, dust or smoke between the device and the surface.
• Do not look into the laser: the laser is class 2; do not point the beam at the eyes or, via reflective surfaces, at the face.
