GMCC KA90HHA is a 3/8 HP hermetic reciprocating compressor made for light commercial refrigeration. It operates with R290 (propane); with a displacement of 9.0 cm³ it delivers a cooling capacity of 1,255 W (4,282 BTU/h) under HBP conditions.

According to the manufacturer's delivery list, the box contains: compressor · relay · run + start capacitor · terminal cover · cable clamp and screws · 4 rubber grommets · grounding screw. The capacitor does not need to be purchased separately.

• 🔥 R290 is a flammable refrigerant (A3 class). Installation, leak checking and service work must be carried out according to flammable refrigerant rules: a ventilated area without ignition sources, suitable recovery equipment and compliance with charge limits are essential. This compressor is for R290 systems only.
• 💡 Why R290? Propane has a GWP value of 3 (3,922 for R404A, 1,430 for R134a). Because the F-Gas regulation gradually restricts high-GWP refrigerants, R290 systems are not affected by quota and price pressure. It also requires a smaller charge and gives higher efficiency for the same capacity.
• 🔧 Operating interval: The manufacturer requires ON > 5 minutes, OFF > 5 minutes. If the thermostat cycles on and off too often, compressor life is shortened; use a time-delay relay if necessary.
• 🔧 Pressure equalization at start-up: Starting is difficult if the high and low pressure sides have not equalized. In capillary tube systems this happens naturally; in a system with an expansion valve, consider a bypass.
• 🔧 Installation: Fix it without removing the grommets and without exceeding a tilt of 5°. When connecting a Schrader valve to the service tube, braze with at least 5 cm of tube; do not mix up the suction and service tubes.
• Application limit: This series is M/HBP — it is for cooler (positive temperature) cabinets. It is not used in freezer (LBP) applications.
